In December, as part of a life-style change, I stopped wearing make-up (you can read about how it changed my life in last week’s post). So, I popped into Boots and decided to treat myself with some bits from Neutrogena’s Hydro Boost range. I’d been eyeing these products up since this range launched but never got round to actually making a purchase.
I have combination/oily skin and worried that products aimed towards hydrating skin would somehow make me oilier/shinier! But I couldn’t have been more wrong – it turns out that dehydration can actually cause your body to produce even more oil…
This is the first product I use on my skin and boy is it fab! It claims to ‘lather away dirt, oil and make-up’ whilst also locking in hydration and it definitely does that – after creating a lather and applying to a wet face, my skin feels so clean and smooth!
I follow up with the moisturiser – there’s also the Gel Cream Moisturiser which is suitable for extra-dry skin but I use the normal one. A little goes a long way with this but if you use a bit too much on don’t worry because this isn’t greasy in any way.
I love this product because not only does it leave my skin feeling even softer than before (if that’s at all possible!) but it smells INCREDIBLE – it’s got a very ‘clean’ scent but it doesn’t smell of chemicals like other products I’ve tried. Honestly, I don’t know how to even explain it!
So, finally I grabbed this because I’m forever trying to find products to combat my under-eye circles (although it would probably be more effective if I just went to bed at a normal time and didn’t spend 24/7 staring at my laptop screen…).
I’m not sure this does much towards deflating puffy eye bags BUT it does have that cooling sensation which makes me feel more awake than usual!
Something else I should mention about the Hydro Boost Range is that all the products are oil-free, so any one worried about extra shine shouldn’t be! Since using this, I’ve actually noticed a change in my skin; not only does it feel AMAZING, I am not as oily as before!
Also, can we just take a moment to appreciate how GORGEOUS the packaging is? It has a more ‘expensive’ feel to it than Neutrogena’s other products and to be honest just looks fancy in my bathroom…
So, if you’ve been thinking of trying some of this range out, go for it! They’re beautiful, affordable AND they work! Let me know in the comments if you’ve tried the Hydro Boost range. Plus, what are your go-to skin product/s?
