GLAMGLOW Thirstymud Hydrating Treatment // Review

If you hadn’t already guessed by the title of this post, today I thought I’d review the GLAMGLOW Thirstymud Hydrating Treatment which claims to ‘replenish and revitalise your complexion’ with its hydrating ‘long-lasting formula’. But before I get into the pros and cons, it’s probs worth mentioning I have mostly oily skin around the t-zone area and am prone to dryness around my nose and parts of my cheeks AKA a mixed bag!

The instructions suggest you use it 2-3 times a week and ‘leave on for 10-20 mins, wipe off excess and/or massage into skin’. The first few times I applied this, I quickly learnt that a little goes a long way! I applied a rather thick layer onto my face/neck but found it very greasy and uncomfortable, and wiped off the rest after 10 minutes. Since then, I’ve been using this product more as a moisturiser, applying a thin layer to my face and leaving it to sink into my skin.

So, what’s good about this treatment? Well, first of all it smells LUSHH – the ingredients say it contains coconut extract and I also think it smells vaguely like vanilla! Plus, it does make my skin nice and soft, although I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s better at locking in moister than other, more affordable products are. I also love the packaging of this – definitely very GLAM.

And what’s not so good? The price alone isn’t the most appealing – 15g for £16 and 50g for £42 isn’t bank account-friendly! In terms of formula, it can have a very greasy, tacky feel to it if you apply a thicker layer which I found uncomfortable on my skin.

A hydrating formula is something I wouldn’t necessarily use often on my oily skin BUT I have to say that this hasn’t added to my shine at all. I have tried it out as a makeup primer and found it worked nicely as a smooth base to apply foundation which didn’t seem to slide about too much during the day (although I use a very lightweight foundation). It certainly works well on dryer areas of my face but I wouldn’t say there is anything particularly special about this in comparison to the moisturiser I usually use.

Basically, I don’t think I’ll repurchase this once I’ve run out simply because the price is too high but I still enjoyed the product. GLAMGLOW have a whole array of different treatments which you can find on Feel Unique, so let me know which others you’d like me to review next time!
